Ben Harrison Ben Harrison - Head Chef and his team, pride themselves on creating fresh, tasty food and providing good value dishes that not only reflect the changing seasons but wherever possible are obtained from local sources. 

You can't get any more local than the Garden itself and Ben works closely with the gardeners and volunteers of the Edible Gardening Project at the RBGE to ensure we have plenty of and a wide variety of freshly grown leaves and vegetables for inclusion in his menus.

Within the Gateway Restaurant itself, we provide a range of menus throughout the day all year round which are changed seasonally and hopefully provide a selection which meets both traditional and more adventurous palettes.

Please don't hesitate to contact us or let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements, we have a good range of items readily available for vegetarian and gluten intolerant visitors and can easily prepare dishes to meet other specific needs.

  • The Terrace Cafe offers a wide selection of items, all available from assisted service counters where you can view and discuss with our staff before you buy - options include; cakes, fresh fruits and salads, sandwiches, home made soups and hot dishes, including the recent introduction of fries. We have a large range of kids options too and meal deals to help you stretch your budget.

    The East Gate Lodge coffee bar provides a smaller range of handy options to grab and go, including our full range of specialty coffees and teas plus sandwiches, salads, cakes and ice creams.
    Event Catering - Menus

    If you are planning an event with us at the Garden, whether it's a barbecue, Wedding, business meeting or top drawer dinner we'll have a menu to meet your needs, nevertheless, our team will only be too happy to discuss your specific options and needs in more detail and create the perfect menu for you.
